Short Term Anatomical and Biomechanical Changes of the Eye in Microgravity
Sansori

Short Term Anatomical and Biomechanical Changes of the Eye in Microgravity on ڰ-1 Mission (Sansori Ax-1) assesses eye and vision changes in crew members on the ڰ-1 (Ax-1) private astronaut mission (PAM). Many but not all astronauts experience changes in eye anatomy and visual acuity known as Space Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome (SANS), and a better understanding of the condition could support development of countermeasures.

Ocular rigidity and choroidal thickness changes in response to microgravity: A case study
  • Ocular rigidity decreases after spaceflight
  • Choroidal thickness increases during Valsalva maneuver in space
  • Valsalva‑induced ocular changes may relate to exercise
  • Findings have implications for SANS understanding
